We are currently looking to recruit support workers to assist 4 ladies with learning disabilities and complex needs, living in the friendly village of South Brent.

Working as part of a team, you will be enthusiastic and motivated to deliver outstanding person-centred support.
Respect, dignity and choice are key aspects of the support you will offer to enable the ladies to enjoy their home and local community.
Daily support needs include personal care, meal preparation, home support, and leisure & social activities.

Deanbrook is situated approximately 15 minutes off the A38 from the Marsh Mills roundabout

This is a 24 hour, 365 days per year service and you will need to be flexible to work as the service requires, including mornings, daytime, evenings and weekends.

We’re currently looking for a number of Support Workers to join us and support the delivery of our supported living service. There are a number of opportunities available including casual, part time and full time hours, Monday – Sunday, 7am – 10pm. There are also part time and casual hours available for waking night support.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll help to provide a high level of support to 6/7 individuals living in their own flats with access to a support hub.

Working as part of a team, you will deliver 1:1 support as well as forming part of the core background support function within the shared hub.

- Injecting huge amount of enthusiasm, creativity and innovative ideas into the hub
- Promoting communication, sensory needs and weekly planning
- Providing personal work at varying levels to suit the needs and personalities of our residents
- Being patient and utilising your great sense of humour to help bring more joy to the hub

About You

To join us as a Support Worker, you will need:

- To be patient, friendly and understanding
- Good communication skills
- A positive and resilient attitude

Previous experience would be preferred but this is not essential as a range of training is provided and we promote a values-based recruitment approach.

The Role

As a Team Leader - you will lead and a team delivering 1:1 support and core background support within a shared hub for 8 individuals living in their own flats with access to a support hub.

In this role, you will play an important part in developing and delivering innovative person-centred services. You will ensure that the service consistently meets internal and external quality standards through the effective management of a team of Support Workers. In addition, you will be responsible for supervising the team so experience of supervisions and appraisals is essential.

You will collate and audit daily, weekly, and monthly records into our online support planning and ensure compliancy. You will ensure that all staff are aware of support outcomes and are consistently working with the people we support to achieve

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake some travel to attend external meetings.

About You

- Experience of supporting and providing services for individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and be able to work in a way that is truly person centred
- A driving licence and access to your own vehicle

You will join us on a full-time contract of 41 hours per week, supporting an individual with severe learning disabilities within a Supported Living Service in Plympton.
Additional hours are available on an ‘AD HOC’ basis. We are looking for people who will bring great energy, creativity, and innovative ideas to supporting individuals.

Ideally as our Support Worker you will be resilient, have a strong personality and be able to work empathetically. You will also need to be patient and good humoured. You will be a great role model and be able to connect through great communication and drive towards accessing the community. Preferably you will have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and be able to work in a way that is truly person-centred - aiming to make a real difference to the individuals’ life by promoting independence and enhancing their perception of quality of life. Driving license would be an advantage.

The Role
